Breast asymmetry

Breast asymmetry

What is it?

Breast asymmetry is common. When it is marked or bothersome, several techniques can rebalance the two breasts: augmentation on one side, reduction or lift on the other, or lipofilling.

Who is it for?

It concerns people bothered by a difference in volume or shape between the two breasts.

How it is done

Precise analysis during the consultation, a strategy adapted to each breast, procedure usually as a day case.

Anaesthesia

Usually general anaesthesia.

Recovery

Variable depending on the procedures performed on each side.

The result

The aim is better harmony; perfect symmetry does not exist naturally.

Risks

Like any procedure, this one carries risks that are rare but real (infection, haematoma, healing problems, asymmetry, reaction to anaesthesia...). They are explained in detail during the consultation, with written information.

The information on this website is general and does not replace a medical consultation. Every surgical or medical procedure carries risks. For cosmetic surgery, French law requires a reflection period of at least 15 days between the detailed quote and the procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Is it covered by insurance?

In France, some major asymmetries may be covered by the national health insurance after approval; this is assessed during the consultation.

How long between the consultation and the procedure?

For cosmetic surgery, French law requires a reflection period of at least 15 days after the detailed quote is given.

Where does the procedure take place?

The consultation takes place at the practice, 11 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris. Surgical procedures are performed in an authorised facility.

I live abroad: how should I organise my trip?

Contact the practice by phone or e-mail. A first consultation in Paris is required; then plan for the 15-day reflection period and stay long enough after the procedure for the first follow-up visits.
